Family-friendly summer activities in Vancouver

Now, there’s nothing wrong with coming to Vancouver and enjoying all the cultural highlights, such as the museums and art galleries, during your trip. But we will say this: it’s pretty terrific to be outside in Vancouver during the summer, because there’s simply so much stuff to do. If you’re visiting with your family, then look at leaving the cultural spots to one side until your next trip, and make this one all about enjoying all of the fun outdoor activities. You’ll love it, your kids will love it. Below, we take a look at just three of the activities that are waiting for you.

To the mountains

Anyone with any aspirations to enjoy the outdoors in North Vancouver has to check out the mountains! There’s not one, not two, but three options: Grouse, Cypress, and Mount Seymour. Grouse is probably the most family-friendly, with hiking, biking, ziplining, and more activities on offer.

At the beach

One of the best summer activities involves doing...very little! A day at the beach is always fun. You can soak up the rays, splash in the water, sit back and read -- anything and everything, so long as it’s relaxing. Kitsilano and English Bay beaches will be two you don’t want to miss.

Cycling around

Ready to work up a sweat? Then rent some bicycles and go for a family bike ride around Stanley Park. It’s beautiful -- and especially so first thing in the morning.

After all that activity, you’ll want to ensure that you’re returning to the best hotel in North Vancouver for a good night’s sleep. At the Econo Lodge Inn & Suites North Vancouver, you can choose from a range of room types, and will also enjoy amenities that include a complimentary hot breakfast buffet, free wireless internet, and access to our seasonal outdoor pool and hot tub.
